The project is structured into 6 work packages, each focusing on a specific aspect of the project and managed by a specific partner.

Data Foundations (WP1)

Enhancing the data foundation for food footprinting, including new research to fill gaps in life cycle impact assessment methods.

Exploiting the Data (WP2)

Better institutionalisation of food footprint information systems.

Actor-Level Footprinting (WP3)

Here we (i) identify high-impact consumer and producer groups at subnational spatial resolution, (ii) study trade-offs along various food transition pathways and (iii) quantify the value of novel foods at scale.

Innovation in Sustainable Food Production (WP4)

A portfolio of case studies for novel foods and technologies that outlines credible pathways to reduce pollution from food production in Europe.

Balancing the Interests (WP5)

Here we convene multiple actors across the food system to (i) implement useful solutions and (ii) evaluate trade-offs and synergies between environmental concerns and other aspects of the food system.

Coordination, Dissemination, and Outreach (WP6)

Here we conduct communication and dissemination activities, as well as provide project management.
